Elisha & Pokey (fka. Tonks & Arthure)

Tonks & Arthure are doing fine and we are so happy to have them both. I’m glad you suggested that we take both, because they couldn’t be more loved. As I promised, attached are pictures of them. you can see how well adjusted they are. Two are of Tonks (now Elsa) and two of Arthure (now Pokey).

Thank you for all your help,

Jim and Denise

Charmander

As the attached photos seem to indicate he has taken over the house. He will explore, settle in anywhere, and has just today taken to bumping noses with me. I blame my little niece who acted as my personal shopper and advised me that Charmander had chosen me. So intuitive at the age of 10 years old. I’m glad to have him!
Best regards and thank you!

Oreo (fka. Bluey)

Hi! Just wanted to share some photos of Bluey (now Oreo) and he’s doing great with his 3 feline siblings!

Bella (fka. Black Beauty)

I fostered Bella, A.K.A Black Beauty for a few months. She mostly hid and rarely came out. When I adopted her I found out that she was a feral cat. Someone had left her outside the shelter. I was very patient with her, I waited for her to start to explore, and I did not force her to do anything. Slowly she started to come out and explore and I gave her a very wide birth. I made it so she was in control of her domain. She started approaching me, I would get down on the floor, I let her come to me, she would brush against me, and I would kiss her. She loves to be kissed on the head. Bella is such a great cat, she doesn’t tear up the furniture or walk on the counter tops. She is very comfortable now. She loves watching the squirrels, taking in the fresh air when the windows are open. She will sleep on my bed, she doesn’t have to hide anymore, and is at complete ease. I am so happy that I adopted her and could give her a safe place to call home.

Dood

(We are delighted to receive this Happy Tail. Dood was rescued from a hoarding situation. He hid in the ceiling for 2 weeks before we could get him! Now he has a loving home to call his own!)

Hi Heartland. My favorite picture of Dood is the one of him laying next to me by the couch. Reason is, Gretel pointed out Dood “looks like he trusts me.” Her response has stayed with me. I am thrilled she sees that in Dood! He’s really coming along!!

I sent you my other favorite picture of Dood Sitting outside his safety spot, my living room closet. I can sometimes coax him to stay out in the living room with me instead of heading back. He’ll sit and take in the area.

The last picture is what I call Dood’s “before” picture. I took it in the first week Dood was with me, 6/18. The other pictures are less than a week old.

Looking at Dood in the Crate compared to how he is now, blew my mind! I am SO thrilled for Dood! He’s got some mojo! It means the world to me! I want that for him!

Thank You for all you do for the animals!!

Cathie

Pumpkin, Daisey, & Ollie (fka. Paisley, Tinna, Gunnar)

As a former, and now current, Heartland Volunteer, I wanted to give an update on our family of Heartland Alums! Pumpkin (once Paisley, adopted in 2010), the calico cat, has gotten very vocal as the years have passed. She always lets us know what she wants and when she wants it – and she gets it! Daisey (once Tinna, adopted 2011), the black cat, has really come into her own, although she maintains some of the shyness she had as a younger cat. Very sweet, affectionate, and vocal. Finally Ollie (once Gunnar, smooth-coated collie mix), who we just adopted two months ago is absolutely loving his new quiet home, his large fenced yard, and soft fluffy toys (who knew!) Pumpkin adores him. To those of you who know how timid and shy he is, you’ll be happy to know that he has come a long way and we are working very hard to slowly build his confidence. He is definitely enjoying life!

Finally, thanks to Heartland for all you do and the love and care with which you do it –
-Linda F and Family
