Bella (fka. Black Beauty)

I fostered Bella, A.K.A Black Beauty for a few months. She mostly hid and rarely came out. When I adopted her I found out that she was a feral cat. Someone had left her outside the shelter. I was very patient with her, I waited for her to start to explore, and I did not force her to do anything. Slowly she started to come out and explore and I gave her a very wide birth. I made it so she was in control of her domain. She started approaching me, I would get down on the floor, I let her come to me, she would brush against me, and I would kiss her. She loves to be kissed on the head. Bella is such a great cat, she doesn’t tear up the furniture or walk on the counter tops. She is very comfortable now. She loves watching the squirrels, taking in the fresh air when the windows are open. She will sleep on my bed, she doesn’t have to hide anymore, and is at complete ease. I am so happy that I adopted her and could give her a safe place to call home.
