Alaskah

Everything is going great! It took Alaskah a couple weeks to warm up but she is loving her new home I think! I absolutely adore her and love coming home to her everyday after work.
Thank you guys so much for helping me find her! She is such a special cat ❤️

Kaylee

t’s been a week since we adopted Kaylee, and she is really doing great. Her first night, she wandered around the house a bit, but by night two, she slept through in her bed. Each morning this week, Kaylee has cried and barked when my husband left for work, so I have moved to the couch with our other dog, Bandit. She will sit with us and calm down until I get up for work. Today, workday 5, she was in her bed in the bedroom when I woke up for work, yay! She seems to be getting more comfortable every day. Her and Bandit still battle for our attention, but when we check the living room camera from work, they are laying on the couch together. Kaylee is so sweet, always up for pets, and gives kisses. We’re hoping she’ll keep getting more comfortable, and start snuggling with us. Right now she’s very bouncy, making Bandit, who is 4 years younger than her, look like a bump on a log. We love her already!

Winston (fka. Heinz)

It’s only been a few months, but we can’t imagine not having Winston in our family.

Izzi (fka. Abhi)

It has been a year since we adopted Izzi (fka Abhi) and she is enjoying the good life in her forever home. She is a girl who wants to have fun. Although she was an adult when we adopted her, she has a lot of kitten in her still. Her favorite toys are balls, but anything she can bat across the floor will do. She enjoys looking out the windows at the birds, squirrels, and rabbits. She loves watching nature shows on TV. She cuddles with her people and is quite content as long as they pet her head and neck.

Frankie (fka. Mushroom)

Hi! Today marks 6 months since we adopted Frankie (formally Mushroom). He is doing great! We love him so much! He is now truly relaxing into his new life. He is so much better meeting new people and other dogs and is so loving and affectionate once he trusts you. He loves walks, playing with his toys, and snuggling up to whoever will let him. Thanks so much for what you do! We are so happy to have rescued him. He fills our life with joy

Raven (fka. Maven)

It has been 2 weeks since we adopted her and Raven(Maven) is settling in very nicely to her new home! (Her chart said that she was called Raven before being called Maven, so we went back to that name.) Raven likes to be patted and have her stomach rubbed, and when we pat the couch, she jumps up next to us to curl up and sleep. When she gets startled, she retreats to her “safe spot” under a futon couch, but most of the time she is very friendly. She and her new brother, Elroy, who is all white, are getting acquainted – chasing each other down the hall and at times even sleeping next to each other. We think they will be great friends soon! Thank you, Heartland staff and volunteers, for taking such good care of Raven!!

When you adopt from a no-kill shelter, you save two lives. The animal you adopt and the one that replaces him.
