Olli and Andi (fka. Holly and Noelle)

We adopted Holly and Noelle (now Olli and Andi) and they are doing great.
They have been amazing and have made our quarantine a million times better. I love waking up to take them out for their morning potty and then coming back inside for a 1 hour cuddle session before the workday starts. My husband and I fight over who gets the nighttime cuddles with them. Their cuteness is now known by the internet and by my workplace (they won the cutest pet competition when there were about 100 entries). We love playing fetch and tug-o-war with their rope toys and we have decent hallways for them to run through. We’re excited to start using our back porch as the weather gets nicer so that we all get more fresh air. They’ve kept us healthy (with daily walks) and active (gotta keep an eye on them) and on a regular schedule (they wake up 10 minutes before my 6am alarm). My coworkers and both of our families love seeing them on zoom chats.
The first few weeks with 2 puppies was really really hard but we’re doing great now and we love them way too much. We’re basically obsessed with them. Our cameras are full.
Thanks so much for Andi and Olli!

Luna (fka. Nina)

Luna is doing so well in her forever home with her best buddy Pearl! With a healthy and active lifestyle, our formally overweight lady has trimmed nearly 10 pounds and is healthier than ever! Her mom says, “Luna loves walks and veggies and plushy toys. She enjoys her partner in crime, Pearl.”

Irving

Today we celebrated Irving’s “birthday” and his Gotcha Day! It is safe to say he was the king, which is no different than any other day. It is amazing to see how much he has changed from the scared, little dog who wouldn’t even move in the kennel to the confident, loving, bossy guy he is now!

He had his own little doggy cake and got to drop some off to his best friends (a fellow Heartland alum).

Maple (fka. Athena)

Hello, My name is Konstantina and me and my family adopted Maple (Athena) a few months ago from your shelter. Since then our home is full of love! I would like to say BIG THANK YOU for all you did for us! Athena adjusted supper quick in her new home and she love it here! She is the most loving family member and everyone want to be her best friend ! Haha

She grow up and form a small puppy to a gorgeous young lady. Here favorite things to do are eating, cuddling and belly rubs! We recently get her a “smart bell” and she learn how to use it supper quickly. So now she press it with her paw when she needs to go outside and do her business. We fall in love with her from the minute we saw her and we love her more every day! Thank you with all of our hearts for bringing this joy in our family!

Arlo (fka. Levi)

My wife and I adopted Arlo in early February and he is fitting in great in our home. He is a very energetic puppy that loves to play which makes him a great match for our terrier who also loves to play all day. They get along great and keep each other entertained when we are busy.

He is very smart, has already learned numerous basic tricks and always seems to be happy and excited to meet new people. He loves to explore the backyard and go for long walks when the weather is nice enough.

We are so happy we found Arlo when we did and we can tell he is loving life in his new home with his new family.

Thank you,

Jason and Alyssa

Jack (fka. Jakk)

Jack has been with us a couple of months now and is doing very well. Jack gets along well with his canine siblings, May, our terrier mix, and Fizzgig (formerly Tuomy, also adopted from Heartland), who we think is most likely some sort of chihuahua mix. Jack really enjoys going on hikes with us around our neighborhood and on nearby Cook County Forest Preserve trails and romping around our backyard when the weather’s not great for hiking. Mostly he’s an extremely loyal companion who insists on being right next to us at all times (it’s the shepherd in him, I suppose!). We’re happy to have Jack as a member of our family and extremely grateful to Heartland volunteer Joanne Rowe, who fostered Jack during his transition out of the shelter and has been kind enough to sit for him when we had to go out of town.
