Addie (fka. Adalai)

Good Morning!

My name is Kaitlyn, and my fiance and I adopted Adalai back in July of 2018. We wanted to send an email updating you on how she’s settled in. She continues to grow more confidant wherever she goes, and her personality is really shining through.

We absolutely LOVE her, and we can’t imagine life without her. She always is ready to cuddle and especially enjoys a good snuggle with her toys. We learned very quickly that she would stay outside all day if she could. Snow is her best friend, and she loves to dive into it and roll around. She is a blast to go exploring with, and our favorite time of the day is playing with her toys after dinner.

We are continuing to work on socializing her to new situations. She is still not fond of being around other dogs, but during her obedience classes, she was slowly starting to share a space with them more comfortably. We are continuing her training so that she gets more practice learning to respond to us in situations where dogs are present. We have slowly introduced her to my five year old nephew, and she absolutely loves him. She occasionally gets excited and wants to jump/tug on him, but she responds well when we give the command for “off”.

Despite her caution to new situations/people and her fear of dogs, we cannot express enough how much we adore her. She is so intelligent and willing to please; she continues to grow and tackle a new situation each day. We can’t thank you enough for caring for animals like Addie and giving them a second chance at a better life.

Sincerely,

Kaitlyn and Sean

Sir Galahad (fka. Ezra)

Ezra is now Sir Galahad, Gali for short. He is wonderful. He’s just perfect (except for sometimes snoring). He’s very happy to be in a home again and has come out of his shell a bit. Surprise, he plays with toys! Sort of anyway. He sometimes chases them but mostly holds them and carries them around. Especially when I come home. He always greets me by the door with a toy he has to show me. He also loves belly rubs and is amazing on a walk.

He had some play dates last weekend with another pit and a jack russell mix. He loved it. Though the jack was more the instigator to play. Gali was fine playing or just chilling. He also doesn’t mind his guinea pig brothers. They are so happy to be able to come out of their cage again. The foster was too interested so they were stuck cooped up. They love Gali!

Thanks again for everything you did for Gali!

Julliette

Juliette is doing great in her forever home! Her mom is an artist and she loves her so much that she did a very pretty watercolor painting of her.

Quinn

I adopted my dog Quinn for your rescue a couple of years ago and got to thinking that you may want one more update.

Atlas (fka Uncle Buck)

Team Maloney is so happy to send a Happy Tail update on our Atlas (fka Uncle Buck)! He is as big of a goof as ever, using his giant head to push up onto our laps, to nuzzle his boxer pup sister, or to try to shove open the treat bucket. We are working on NOT jumping but it is hard when you have to much love and slobber to share with the world!

We are so grateful to Heartland to have given us our gentle giant. Atlas is holding up his head (like in the story) but also is holding onto our hearts!

Mini

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that Mini is doing great! It only took 2 days for Mini to know us and her home. She loves running around the house and yard, playing with dogs we see during walks, sitting on our laps and sleeping in our bed at night. She also loves playing with the dragon she took home from Heartland on adoption day and her other toys and treats. I hope Mini’s former housemates will be adopted soon. I am sure they are just as wonderful as Mini is. Thank you taking such good care of all the animals that find themselves at Heartland. – Susan
