Wilson (fka. Dante)

It has now been almost 5 months since we failed to foster & adopted Wilson (formally known as Dante)

Wilson is doing great! He has adapted well to his new home. After the surgery and neutering he is finally able to get out and socialize with other dogs. He loves to be outside. We recently got him a membership to the Melas Dog Park in Mt Prospect. Needless to say he has taken a liking to running wild and socializing with the other dogs.

We would like to thank Heartland & Suzanne again for everything you guys have done to save him from being put down & arranging him to be saved . Everyday we come home the sun shines a little brighter with him in our lives.

Thanks Again,
John & Abby (& Wilson)

Kole

Kole spent months at the shelter waiting for his family and look at him now! He recently moved up to WI and his mom says he loves the water! “He makes his own splashes with his front paws and attacks the splashes, for literally as long we will let him! Not a good swimmer though, but the life vest helps him with not totally sinking lol he learned his limits with his back paddlers! But I can’t get him away from the pond in the back yard!”

Rex

Heartland, Rex wanted to say hi and let you know he is doing well. His 3 favorite things are playing ball, eating, and sleeping on the couch.

Thanks, Phil

KoJack

Hello, My name is Stephanie and I adopted KoJack about two years ago. I just wanted to let everyone know he is still doing wonderful and seems very happy and put with our family. He is an amazing fur baby, and a please to have! Here are some photos of him at his forever home!

Brownies

We just love this happy tail for Brownies who waited a long time for his wonderful life!

“Brownies was adopted about 1.5 years ago. We absolutely love him to pieces and he fits right into our family! Brownies still gets the zoomies when he gets so excited. He is the most talkative dog we have ever had in our family. He loves car rides and has his own car seat. He loves always being with his master and loves being outside.

We all live up in Canada now. He enjoys visits with Bruiser, who our parents rescued from you guys 11 years ago. They are about 1-1/2 hours away so we try to take Brownies up on weekends as they live more out in the woods and on a lake and he loves it out there.

We definitely spoil Brownies in our family. There is no shelter out there like Heartland! You guys give every animal a chance and it always breaks our hearts as to why Brownies was there so long. But we are glad that he became part of our family.”

Shakira

Shakira is a dream. We have been so thrilled. All is going well- we just took her on vacation with us to upper Wisconsin and she seemed to love it (she was the belle of the camp we were at! Thanks for all you do

Adopt

When you adopt from a no-kill shelter, you save two lives. The animal you adopt and the one that replaces him.
