Not ready to foster? No problem! You can register to join us for the Saturday party and Sunday breakfast to support our mission without taking a pet home.

The Kick-Off Pajama Party

April 18, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Dust off your favorite pajamas and head to Heartland for a cozy evening of community and compassion.

Feast & Fun: Enjoy a pizza dinner while mingling with fellow animal lovers.

Behind the Scenes: Take a special after-hours tour to see the heart of our operations.

Meet the Residents: Spend time with our adoptable animals and hear inspiring stories about how fostering transforms lives.

Main Event: Overnight Slumber Pawty

April 18-19 The Overnight Slumber Pawty For those interested and pre-approved to foster, the party continues at home!

 The Experience: Take a shelter dog or cat home for a one-night staycation.

Share the Love: Document your cozy night on social media to help raise awareness and funds for Heartland’s foster program. Your photos and videos show the world who these animals really are.

Note: Foster spots are limited and based on availability. To participate, you must be registered for the event and have a foster application on file by April X, 2026.

Breakfast & Locks of Love Ceremony

April 19, 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. All attendees are invited back in the morning!

Slumber Pawty Breakfast: Join us back at the shelter to swap stories and highlights from your overnight sleepover. If you didn’t foster an animal help us welcome our animals back to Heartland!

Lock in Your Love Ceremony: Following breakfast, help us inaugurate our brand-new play yard! Inspired by the “Locks of Love” in Paris, we are dedicating a section of our fence to the permanent bonds between humans and animals.

Leave Your Mark: Leave Your Mark: You are invited to attend the “Love Lock” ceremony for no additional fee. Red Heart Locks will be available that morning for an additional donation if you wish to participate in the ceremony, otherwise just celebrate with us!

Plan a cozy night at home with your foster pet—or your own dog or cat.
